Everlasting…

Going to the building beside Champ Beverages is a tattoo parlour. Actually right beneath this sign is one for an ATM. They make it easy.

Mom is probably a safe bet to write on your arm.  The relationship status won’t change over time. Unlike Facebook where you simply “confirm” or “cancel” relationships, add or ignore friends- or even block people,  permanent ink requires a bit more thought and money.

Indeed there are artists whose work will take your breath away.  My guess is they don’t recommend names. Images can have reassigned meanings. Names are just that.

And when time passes and life changes, there are the practicalities of spending approximately eighty dollars for a name and then upwards of twelve hundred for its removal.

Personally, I would give a hug and then go to Europe with the twelve hundred, a nice dinner with wine for the eighty. But that’s just indelibly me.

Can’t get there from here…

January 6th, 2010 · Sidewalk Stories

This is where bad moods reside. Please ask the post office for the zip code. The terrain is bland and the exit fee is ludicrous.

Actually, this is the Tire Empire, it’s a sign above the DirtBuster’s Car Wash, right near Advance Lock and Key on Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island, but drive by at night and see the sign high in the air and it’s as though some parallel reality is trying to cut into our own and place a stake or squatters rights. Thankfully the boulevard is overbuilt and under noticed. We prefer Salvatore’s for pizza, the Colonnade for coffee and Champs for when they stock Sapporo Black Label.
