It is a privilege to work with great clients like Transport for New South Wales. I was part of a new series exploring the future of transport tech from the team @TransportforNSW. It’s called MOVE hosted by @hexsteph. #moveshow

Hello 2019!

Let’s build this year together. There is so much ahead. I am grateful to our team, partners, investors, clients and of course my family for all of their support. A sincere thank you for all that each of you enable- and the opportunities that we create together.

But the user didn’t get it.

Perhaps what you mean, is you didn’t understand the way the user thinks or what he or she values. Perhaps what you have defined as the problem and solution is only your world view.

Stop. Look. Listen.

What are your users doing? In general, not just when they are interacting with your product?
What do they care about, believe in?
What really bothers them?

Are you creating something that removes a serious pain, or creates an entirely new need? If not, and you have to keep explaining to folks, “Here is what you have to do, and here’s why it will be good for you?” maybe you need to go back and revisit your value proposition.

“But we put so much time and effort into this, we can’t just start over! Maybe if we changed the look, or put in more explanation… Maybe if we…”

Know when to let things go.

Smashing silos also involves your own work.
